An unusual solo release by Jack Hayter of Hefner. A sort of rootsy batch of acoustic folk tunes that occasionally recalls some of the more downbeat work of the Television Personalities. Fans of Tom Waits and the Black Heart Procession might find someone new they like here. Lyrics like “she’s got eyes like piss holes in the snow” take the cake. Quirky, endearing and odd.
