Review: Backdraft

Backdraft
“Here to save you all”
(Abstract)

Backdraft is bringing butt rock back. Shooting straight out of Sweden (mother of other great artists such as Ace of Base and ABBA) and boasting a growing stateside fan base, these five long hairs can expect a huge success in the trailer park communities of Alabama. A southern rock influence shoots through these Swedes like tobacco en route to the spittoon. Even with their southern rock sound, their blonde locks and leather cowboy hats may not sit well with the true southern rockers.

Britney Spears has already begun an anti-Backdraft campaign. She was not quoted as saying, “These four guys from Sweden think they can come over and take over the south. Well I have news. I’m from Loosey-Anna and I own the south. I’m the definition of southern rock.” Backdraft was unavailable for comment.

Their press release compares them to Lynyrd Skynyrd and Corrosion of Conformity, but that is wishful thinking. A closer comparison would be along the lines of White Snake, Saigon Kick and an unpolished Alice in Chains. But the music world works in cycles and maybe it is time for butt rock’s return. If so, Backdraft is ready to usher in a new age of head banging, long hair and suit cases of PBR.

And Britney, you know you love it.
