Kobe Bryant is big news, huh?  I hate the Lakers but damn that’s a good story.  Nick Koenigs’ first vocals on TTT!’s follow up to “Get Into It” are, “What’s wrong with a little monogamy?”  Well, Kobe, what’s wrong with loving the one you’re with?  Critics love TTT! for tons of reasons.  Lots of critics like how they’re a little off kilter, with their metal riffs and rawk strutting and their twistedly original sense of humor.  They’re like the Strokes and the Hives and all those other bands that critics love because the singers act like Mick Jagger and sing about girls.

TTT!’s feistiness is on par with those other acts (the Stones excluded, let’s get serious), but what critics really flip over are the sentiments buried within Koenigs’ vocals.  Take the title track, for example, where Koenigs bemoans the loss of the love song in today’s relationships, where everything is based strictly on the “fluid exchange game”, where he laments that he wants to say, ‘I love you’ not only to the “hills and valleys but to you girl/ This hickey is from me to you”.  How awesome is that? say the critics.  Well, if you listen to this and form an opinion that means you’re a critic too.  You’re not as cool as me, but you’re still a critic.
