Review: Steve Roach / Jeffrey Fayman

Steve Roach / Jeffrey Fayman
“Trance Spirits”
(Tranceportation)

On Trance Spirits, Roach rejoins with Jeffrey Fayman and Momodou Kah, the percussionists of the 2001 CD “The Serpents Lair” for a new album of ambient soundscapes with exotic, ethnic, acoustic percussion. The authentic African percussion forms a dense substrate to the electronic soundscapes produced on guitar and synthesizer by Steve Roach. Robert Fripp is on hand to lend his talents to this live (not overdubbed) recording on three tracks.
