Review: Loreli

Loreli
““Our Minds Have Been Electrified””
(Ice-Made Records)

Loreli combines punk hooks with those I don’t give a fuck about anything or anybody monotone punk vocals that have been around since the dawn of punk rock.  In an almost aside type of activity the band frequently just goes off musically with frequent time changes and those really easy guitar solos with thick distortion that true punk is sort of known for.  The album is pretty good, but I can only listen to it once or twice before it all starts to run together in my mind and drives me crazy because there is just so much more to making and playing music.  The best way to describe this group is spacious and showing a lot of room to grow, but still essentially a novelty.
