The new band of young musicians proudly proclaims a high percentage of its membership is “under the legal drinking age.” Be that as it may, the group is tuned to the noisy, post-punk power pop of the ’80s on this keyboard-driven album. For instance, “Notification of First Adds” could be a song from The Psychedelic Furs. The Santa Barbara quintet has an acute musical sensibility beyond its years and originally recorded this material for demo use. The material garnered such a great reception that the peppy punk pop was re-recorded for the EP with David Newton, formerly of The Mighty Lemondrops.
