Review: Hospital Food

Hospital Food
“Medicate”
(New School Records)

Hospital Food is from Salt Lake City which means they may or may not be Mormon.  Maybe they’re like that “SLC Punk!” movie, I dunno.  Anyway, they play straight-up pop-punk in the vein of say, Blink 182 or maybe even older Pivit, with simple progressions and mid-tempo rambunctious-ness.  Almost every song off of “Medicate” sounds exactly the same with Vandals’ style drumming and clichéd-punk-rock (read: trying really hard to sound like Fat Mike) vocals.
