Review: Dogwood

Dogwood
“Seismic”
(Tooth and Nail)

Holy shit! NOFX got drunk one night, knocked up emo music, and had a kid named Dogwood!  Dogwood is a feisty little bugger with a grudge against the US, or so I gathered from the track, “Selfish Americans”.  Aside from American bashing, other topics littered through the album include making choices in life, and moving.  The music is an authentic sample of pop-punk complete with palm mutes, pick slides, and drumming that is true to the pop-punk genre.  If your into NOFX or Homegrown than Dogwood is here to pump some serious new values into your life. Your eyes will be wide open when their done with you. Listen if you dare, but you might end up in some desert training facility learning how to fire rockets at passenger planes.
