They yell, they scream, it’s hardcore, people. Yes, there’s passion. Yeah, there’s intensity. Sure, they’re from Southern California (it’s not easy finding any passion around here, let me tell you) so you’ve got to take it with a grain of salt, but rest assured that it’s here. Hardcore with a twist of punk, I’d call “Reproduce the Common Practice”, I think. That was surely an awkward sentence. A more astute reviewer would go back and clean that mess up, but you’re stuck with me, so just read on.
Beauty to Ashes notice a lot of things going on around here that are messed up and they’re not afraid to let you know what they don’t like and what can be done to fix it. They do this mostly by shouting, screaming, and wailing. They don’t like the insincere handshakes and plastic smiles we’re giving each other. They don’t like the omnipresent advertising campaigns designed to make us feel inadequate and ugly. They do this mostly by hammering chords together in a slashing frenzy. Beauty to Ashes are a heavy, serious, smart hardcore band. Don’t miss this one because if you do you’ll never be able to experience “How to Put Out a Fire with Gasoline” one of the better hardcore anthems I’ve heard in a while. Check it out.
