Review: Audra Kubat

Audra Kubat
“UNTITLED for now”
(Remedy Records)

Inspired by Joni Mitchell, Audra Kubat produces warm and winning folk-pop with a mix of acoustic and restrained electric guitars. After the spare intimacy of Elixir, Audra chose producer Mike E. Clark (Insane Clown Posse, George Clinton, Big Chief) and his Funhouse Studios for the creation of “UNTITLED for now”. As one would expect, there are more musicians and a more developed sound but all of Audra’s natural charm and authenticity is intact on this second successful solo record from Detroit’s stunning and compelling folk Amazon.
