Review: The Forecast

The Forecast
“Proof of Impact”
(Thinker Thought Records)

The Forecast offer nothing new and fail to step outside, if only for a brief moment, from the circle that holds every other middle course Midwest emocore band. Poor production quality doesn’t help the band’s off-key harmonies, textbook crunchy guitar riffs and weak hooks. Their use of the loud/soft dynamic is pathetic and embarrassing.

This band should have never left their parents’ basement, let alone step into a studio. Trite, heartfelt lyrics don’t help the situation: “I want you to know/How extraordinary you are and/How much I want to have/Because of that,” …struggles to sing while accompanied by acoustic guitar. The Forecast is one of thousands of bands that never should have been.
