The Bad Luck 13 Riot Extravaganza
“We Kill Children”
(Too Damn Hype)

By the look of the pictures in the booklet Bad Luck 13 certainly seems to have quite the interesting stage show.  I’m sure one could find out more at their website, www.badluck13.com, but that someone ain’t going to be me.  The music features sludgy Cub Scout-like devouring quicksand guitar and bass, snarling abrasive vocals and tempos ranging from stoner to meth addict.  The CD insert contains no lyrics, which is probably in the band’s best interest with song titles like “We Kill Children,” “Rape,” and “The Columbine High Alma Mater.”  An example of their lyrics: “We kill children/ Just to watch them die/ Come here little boy and have a blow-pop/ Just unzip my fly.”

Yup, that’s the kind of creepy ghoulish treats that await listeners of The Bad Luck 13 Riot Extravaganza.  I don’t have a clue as to what the band’s name means, let alone why anyone would name their band something so incomprehensible and unmemorable, but maybe that’s the way the boys in Bad Luck 13 want it to be.  Maybe they let their Japanese fans name the band?

If you’ve been waiting for a sickly death metal version of the Mentors, then your wait is over with the arrival of The Bad Luck 13 Riot Extravaganza.
