Review: Snog

Snog
“Beyond the Valley of the Proles”
(Metropolis)

Another batch of anti-capitalistic, electro-industrial oddness from Australia’s Snog.  Frequently recalls later Swans work and, strangely, bits of Black Francis in the vocals.  Mixing diverse elements of dance, drum n’ bass and more traditional song structures, Snog continue to impress with bold music that still retains dancefloor appeal.  Excellent cover art, as always.  This time it’s a magician sawing a box of Nikes in half.
