Review: KMFDM

KMFDM
“Sturm and Drang Tour 2002”
(Metropolis)

With a back catalog as extensive as KMFDM it only makes sense to release a live album. The live album serves as a greatest hits of sorts and also either signals the return or demise of a group. In this case I’m not quite sure which of the two it is just yet. For me the release of a KMFDM live album is a great idea. I do like quite a bit of their material but would probably never get around to actually purchasing one of their albums. In this case I get the best of both worlds. Songs like ‘D.I.Y’, ‘Megalomaniac’ and their infectious cover of Nancy Sinatra’s “Boots’ makes this a must have for not only die hard KMFDM fans but for anyone who doesn’t already own a KMFDM album but would like to.
