This DVD documentary explores the impact of Bruce Lee on the role of kung fu in the movies through interviews with several people. Many of these people were students at Bruce Lee’s school. They augment the personal exposition that is anything but glorification but rather an intimate portrayal of a man that had advanced to phenomenal athletic abilities and loved to express that, as well as fight. In many ways, Bruce Lee comes across much like Harry Houdini, a superhuman of sorts whose greatest feats are still legendary and unable to be reproduced. Lee’s brother and son also give interviews as well as the late actor James Coburn (a student) and Jackie Chan, perhaps Lee’s closest modern day equivalent. The DVD indulges the viewer with a few of Lee’s longer fight scenes in their entirety.
