They are all <strong>sisters<\/strong>. And they rock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Formed in 2005, they have two full lengths out. 2014&#8217;s self-titled &#8220;<em>Maid of Ace<\/em>&#8220;, and 2016&#8217;s &#8220;<em>Maid in England<\/em>&#8221; (get it? clever girls&#8230;)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.modernfix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/maidalbums-1024x534.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-39005\" title=\"\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Musically, they are a <strong>greasy punk rawk &#8216;n roll<\/strong>. High octane tempos and fuck it all attitudes. Of all the directions a group of sisters could go in, it&#8217;s great to see these girls bypass the expected path to pop stardom. Instead, they are in a van, rocking the clubs and breaking hearts. They are earning the punk rock cred they wear patched on their souls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"MAID OF ACE - BONE DETH (OFFICIAL VIDEO) HD\" width=\"1290\" height=\"726\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/uQDEXqcGlNc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I originally checked this band out based on their name, it wasn&#8217;t until after I liked their tunes and looked into the band further did I find out they were sisters. I am sure they are bored with the whole, &#8216;Oh wow, you are sisters&#8217; reactions and obligatory press mentions. But it is an unusual situation that has bred some aggressive punk with some not so subtle political overtones. Witness: &#8216;<strong>Raise the Minimum Wage<\/strong>&#8216;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"MAID OF ACE - MINIMUM WAGE (OFFICIAL VIDEO)\" width=\"1290\" height=\"726\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/aT1ihZrokjI?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The more a band seems like a unit, the more tangible their art becomes as a band. Having such a familial bond combined with the explosive raw energy of these girls results in a powder keg of rock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"MAID OF ACE - STAY AWAY (OFFICIAL VIDEO) HD\" width=\"1290\" height=\"726\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ATokdF3llJI?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Singer <strong>Allison Elliot<\/strong> elicits a gritty rough charm in her vocals. Brody Dalle of the Distillers would be a good comparison.
