Review: Hellions

Hellions
““Switchblade Rock n Roll””
(Chicken Ranch Records)

On this 45 The Hellions sound like the classic rendition of a mid nineties punk band playing at a small dive bar where most of the people in the audience are either addicted to heavy narcotics or completely straight edge.  It’s great to hear a guy pelt out thick lyrics behind rapid drumming and a three power chord riffs sometimes.  The most notable track on here is the title track, but the songs are very comparable to each other.  I guess punk rock finally made it to Texas.  If you own a leather jacket with a Subhumans patch safety pinned to the bottom of the back you’re for sure to like this record.
