Throwdown
“Haymaker”
(Trustkill)
Throwdown’s “Haymaker is easily comparable to Hatebreed’s “Satisfaction Is The Death Of Desire”. Not only is this album in your face nature but it’s also absolutely brutal in it’s attack and delivery. Dave Peters throat is fierce and commanding over the coarse of “Haymaker” and its 14 songs. There are times, like the beginning of the song ‘Nothing Left’, where Dave’s voice will send chills up your spine.
The whole “Metalcore” scene has seen more than its fair share of bandwagon jumpers in the past couple years but its still nice to see a band come out and completely destroy everything. Other bands should use this album as a guideline to see how you can create truly great hardcore. Throwdown’s “Haymaker” is just that, a complete lesson in aggression that will leave you feeling like you’ve just gotten a right hand to the head.
