If you love spacey drone garage rock ala The Velvet Underground, Spacemen 3 will not disappoint. This 11 track collection of singles clocks in at 79:58 and every track is worth your hypnotic attention. Walkin with Jesus is a sludgy song that chugs along like an opiate fueled train. Rollercoaster is exactly what the title suggests. Transparent Radiation is an 8 minute journey to the center of your third eye. Various instrumental sections sprinkled with spoken word add to an aura long forgotten by the major labels (and public for that matter). This band has the potential to bring back an era of when the ART is what mattered, not the sales. This self-produced release features Sonic Boom (guitar, feedback, vocals), Jason (guitar, vocals), Bassman (bass) & N. Brooker (drums). The production is perfect. The drums sound like they are in your living room and the guitars weave a psychedelic spider web that would make Robert Smith jealous. The vocals blend perfectly over the sonic tapestry. Imagine the delivery of Lou Reed but on key ( I said Imagine). In these times of 80 min Cds of filler, it is refreshing to hear a band that can deliver. Buy this now.
