Slash says he is down for a GNR reunion

This is Slash.

He used to play in a little known band called Guns and Roses.

When they ruled the planet… they looked like this…

But then Axl got famous, became a maniac, and one by one… the guns ranks were depleted.

Nowadays, Guns and Roses looks like this…

That’s a member of The Replacements over there on the left… wth?

While the sheer iconic power of what Guns and Roses was… seems to keep people fairly interested in what Guns and Roses is… at best, it is a pale shadow of itself, mining the glory of 20 year old albums while people still care.

That could be remedied by an original lineup Guns and Roses. Or at least, a “Use Your Illusion” era roster.

At the very least… you gotta have Slash, or you get what you have now… a Guns and Roses cover band with a guy who sounds a lot like Axl Rose… but looks more like Axl Rose’s dad.

At a recent stop on CBS This Morning, the famed guitarist hinted that the landscape has changed and the possibility for a legitimate Guns reunion was something he could support, if the conditions with Axl were right.

“Well, we haven’t really talked in a long time, but a lot of the tension that you were talking about has dissipated. We don’t have all those issues anymore. It’s not a lot of controversy. It’s something that is more perpetuated by the media, more than anything.”

So does that mean a reunion is in the works?

“I’ve got to be careful what I say there. I mean, if everybody wanted to do it and do it for the right reasons, I think the fans would love it. I think it might be fun at some point to try and do that.”

Slash is currently out supporting his ‘Beneath the Savage Sun’ song, a collaboration with the International Fund for Animal Welfare to raise awareness for endangered elephants being poached for their ivory.
