Review: Matchbook Romance

Matchbook Romance
“West For Wishing”
(Epitaph)

Let me ask you a question. When you hear a band is on Epitaph what type of band comes to mind? Personally, I think the band will probably use heavy distortion, fast paced punk sounding drum beats and most importantly melodic singing accompanied with screaming. If you expect the same thing as me and are a fan of Epitaph, Matchbook Romance is a great choice because they do all of these things and do them well. The stand-out track on this five track ep is “the greatest fall (of all time)” which quite honestly reminds me of Finch because of the thunderous double bass. This band has some real potential.
