Review: Malefaction

Malefaction
“Where There is Power There is Always Resistance”
(G7 Welcoming Committee)

Hardcore screaming, grindcore guitars and blast-beat drumming are all wrapped up in a slick cocoon of doom and poli-punk attitude. Malefaction, with their own fantastic brand of beastly mayhem, is a nice band for crossing over the usually politically apathetic death and black metal fans into the highly politicized realm of hardcore protest rock. Malefaction comes out swinging at media manipulation, terror based social controls, child labor, slave wages, and the grief caused by the world’s leaders who would rather race their nation’s off to war than provide living wages for their people. Here we have an amazing rip-roaring band with a cause.
