Arg, annoying when the music is good but the vocals fall short. Hate to start a CD review out like this, but it has to be done. The album bursts out of the stereo with a 46 second number, Die. Not too shabby, punk rock blah blah. A little of Subhumans meets Pennywise, which may not be a bad thing, but the vocals tend to get in the way of an above average sound. The second track, Downtown, is just annoying. The album has its up and down, and is one of the few punk bands that can pull off four minute songs without resorting to filler, so Ill give em that. Two Steps Behind, track 11, is like an shoddy Exploited song, and the final number, is an acoustic Spanish sung song called I Hate The Man. Hmm. Afterthought here, if your trying to support the Spanish / Mexican / Latino / Russian / whatever community, adding one song sung in XX language is not going to break any fucking barriers. VooDoo Glow Skulls came out with two different languages of the same album, and have the right idea. All in all, not my kinda sound, and not enough peppy beats make this CD sound more like angry pop then punk.
