These are crusty punks Discharge.
The band started in 1977 in Staffordshire, England… which means they were among the bands that started punk rock in the first place.
Discharge was among the bands that took the punk approach and melded it with walls of overblown amps and reckless aggression… a lesson they learned from Motorhead, while still being a band more suited to open for The Clash… which they did.
They were one of those punk bands that sounded almost metal, but between the aesthetic, attitude and whatever magical line that exists between the two, Discharge were among the punks.
The band has had numerous members, some have returned, only to leave again, which will happen when you are a punk bank that’s managed to exist for almost 40 years.
But the core of Discharge reunited in 2001 and, with the tradition of revolving members, have been releasing gritty, overcharged, rock and roll to punk fans new and old.
They are gearing up for the release of, “End of Days” (Nuclear Blast) full length in April, 2016.
