Review: Toxic Narcotic

Toxic Narcotic
“Had It Coming”
(Rodent Popsicle Records)

This record reminds me of the days of Operation Ivy with their mix of ska and punk, but with darker lyrics.  At the end of their song
‘Cockroach’, after saying “the human race will be no more” over and over the song ends with bombs exploding.  On the other side of the record is ‘War Song 2K’, a ballad about death.  The chorus, after chanting ‘you will die’, repeats different ways to die including
mutilation and suffocation.  The outlook isn’t good, but the record is.
