Review: The Threats

The Threats
“Demos and Rarities”
(Dr. Strange)

Obscurities by obscure Scottish punk band The Threats.  Twenty-seven tracks recorded from 1979 to 1982.  The oi-punk thing was already pretty played out and “dead” by the time these guys even got around to it way back then and they didn’t really add anything new to the genre.  Needless to say fans of Stiff Little Fingers and Sham 69 who eat up anything that sounds like that and dig that gritty, old, punk demo production will probably get a kick out of this collection.
