Review: The Lotus Eaters

The Lotus Eaters
“Mind Control for Infants”
(Neurot)

Creepy ambient chill out music.  Spare strums of minor chords on a guitar, faint bits of burbling electronics, random strings seemingly scratched by mice in the walls, empty space that starts to swell up out of the speakers . . .   It may not sound exciting to you, but in the hands of these three guys it all actually works.  The Lotus Eaters produce  minimalist, modern classical, improvisational music of the first order.  Good stuff.
