Imagine Poison the Well [minus the amazing diversity and melody] and Atreyu [minus the Iron Maiden influence] mixed with bits and pieces of death metal and you might get a better understanding of the Judas Cradle. This is your standard hardcore for 2004 but interspersed with anthem-fist-pumping like parts for the hardcore kids to sing along to.
While the disc is definitely not bad I really wish they would have tried to diversify the music a bit more, possibly looking into some melody to tie things together. With crafty song titles like What to Do When Your Van Breaks Down in the Middle of Oregon or When I was Little I Used to Write Letters to God how could you not dig these guys?
