Although my first love is obviously Modern Fix, I am a subscriber to Devil In The Woods (DIW) and accordingly get quarterly installments with a 7 included. I am a huge collector of rare and hard to find music and when my hand numbered 7 featuring The Postal Service, Coldplay, and the heavenly states arrived I was, well, tickled pink. How often are you going to get one of the best British bands and the first band to successfully merge indie rock with electronica on one hand-numbered record?
Anyways, amiss all the glory there was this other song, by this other band called the heavenly states that could easily stand on its own. Indie label Future Farmer Recordings hit the jackpot with this fourteen track album of diverse, uniquely crafted songs. There are, however, a few stand out tracks including My Friends, an off beat organ and string driven track about being completely wrong about something. My Friends seems to really hit home for these artists, who I believe could have a personal reason for writing the song. In a perfect world the heavenly states would go on tour with doves.
