I could never really wrap my head around these bands that want to get all scientific on you while theyre rocking out. Thanks to Selfmademan though, I might drag out my protractor and equate a few angles. This fourth album is somewhat technical in its musical approach, but the band packs so much energy and passion into every second of it you cant help but love it. Edgy and angry while being pure and sincere, this album rides the fence between math and (dare I say it ) emo quite well. You can hear that they work on each melody with the intensity of The Brain plotting a method of taking over the world, but they keep it close enough to home that you feel like you know what theyre talking about, Pinky. Wow intellectual AND emotional. Whats the world coming to?
