The Reunion Show

The Reunion Show
“Kill Your Television”
(Victory Records)

Just so you know, this had nothing to do with Ned’s Atomic Dustbin, who had a (fairly popular) single with the same name as this album. Unfortunately, ‘sharing’ this title does nothing for this band, musically wise, that would make it stand out from the crowded emo pool of music currently frothing over into radio and MTV. This album’s production is very average, and although that really doesn’t have any reflection on the band, it’s quite noticeable in the bland drums , the hollow vocals and the actually decent job on the bass sound. Although I’m sure it’s easy to find fans using average Weezer music mixed into Midtown-esque lyrics/music and opening for, duh, Midtown, boring and predictable lyrics along with uninspired music make this something to pass on unless that hard-on you wake up with each morning is due to your sweaty anticipation of discovering more pop-emo music. Overall, The Reunion Show is a decent band that provides nothing new to the table.
