Review: Reach 454

Reach 454
“Self-Titled”
(Lava / Atlantic)

There is a reason there are so many bands being dropped from major labels right now, the majority of them are mediocre. Unless you’re checking into the underground to uncover some truly cool bands, you’re not going to find it on a major these days. Keeping in tune with that thought is Reach 454, whom describe mediocre to a tee. This album doesn’t really offer up anything that we haven’t all heard before. ‘Wake Up’ seems to be one of the albums strong points with its fury and energy; unfortunately the song still sounds a little bit too familiar. The other tracks start with good intentions but fail to head into waters that will keep a band like Reach 454 around for any length of time.
