Review: Origin

Origin
“Informis Infinitas Inhumanitas”
(Relapse)

Very clever, mind-numbing vocal arrangements assault the listener as does the undeniably fast paced, twirling dervish musical hurricane of drums and guitar.  They make ’em loud and exceedingly mean in Kansas.  Origin, hailing from Lawrence, Kansas, seem to view each and every last damn second on a CD as a precious natural resource that must preserved and utilized to its fullest extent.  There is nary a second wasted; not a note falling from this juggernaut of sound in disgrace.

Technically adroit, utilizing both electronic and traditional drums in their attack, the incessant guitars and vicious drum work will be too much for some fans of even the most extreme of death metal (even I find it overbearing), but for those who wait patiently for only the most brutal of releases (and by brutal I don’t simply mean chug, chug, burrrr straight ahead nonsense that any child could write, but rather music that tires the brain out from following it around all over the goddamn place) your patience has paid off; go buy this; your wait is over.

For others out there, others like me who might find this offering from Origin too intensive and unrelenting, there’s always Dean Martin.  Ahhhh, Dean Martin… When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie that’s amore. When the world seems to shine like you’ve had too much wine that’s amore. Bells will ring ting-a-ling-a-ling, ting-a-ling-a-ling…  The whole world must die!  Your whole world must die, savoring your death! The decision is yours.
