This is a five-song EP of lo-fi pop by one-man team Lou Dog. Dog played all the instrumental on the album and then enlisted the able talents of engineer Bogdan Hernik (Astrud Gilberto) and for mastering Bob Ludwig (Led Zeppelin). Rather than a highly produced sound, this resulted in a very authentic, genuine, live sound. We do not feel we are hearing any effects here, but actual instruments. This gives a sense to the album of a time before any of the studio wizardry that we are now used to were common techniques. High Speed Secrets could easily be a well-produced lost gem of ’60s psychedelic pop.
