Lacuna Coil is a sweetly dreamy melancholic metal band from Italy (home of former fascist Mussolini and current fascist The Pope!) that weaves together songs of venerable grace, tact and orchestration. The sharing of vocal duties by one human of the female gender and one of the hairier more testicular types adds another dimension to their already rich and full soundscape. Those of you who look for more in your metal bands than growling, rapping, simplistic chunk-chunk-chunk-oramas and fast picking contests would be wise to give Lacuna Coil a long serious listen. Wise, indeed.
