Review: How It Ends

How It Ends
“So Shall It Be”
(Thorp Records)

How It Ends plays conservatively mid-tempo, heavy death metal with a touch of crunch and a lot of groove.  The vocals are easy to swallow, stick the mic in your mouth and shout shit.  The bass guitar is distinctive in the mix and reminds me of the way Autopsy was mixed and I liked the way Autopsy was mixed if you care to know whether that’s good or bad.  How It Ends is easy to like.  They churn out their deathly tunes with no excessive attitude or fanciness.  They give what they have to give and if they were candy then they’d be just enough to satisfy the sweet tooth.
