Former Moxie manager Nancy Scibilia restarted Moxie’s 28 Days Records as a label about “music created by grrrls.” They have a well-suited artist who tosses profanity and her overt Lesbian politics into the songs on Intractable. This activist-singer dishes out cutting and witty and personal songs with a hip post-folk style that earns her comparison to early Ani DiFranco. The combination of intelligent observation and punk attitude (Some songs, like “Surrounded” are themselves punk) is a winning combination of hooks and focused angst from this radicalized singer-songwriter. Rocking rebellion and articulate anti-establishments attacks make Intractable fully successful political rock.
