Review: Gatsbys American Dream

Gatsbys American Dream
““Ribbons And Sugar””
(Rocketstar Recordings)

Gatsbys American Dream is primarily a vocally driven indie band that almost certainly builds the music around the words which are laced with social and political rants.  The tension in the lead singer’s voice is so sincere and his frustration is surely backed up by the music.  I guess the closest connection to their sound is Thursday or Thrice without the screaming and with an earlier No Knife edge.  Think about if the members of the aforementioned bands tried to make a truly indie record and that’s “Ribbons and Sugar”.
