Galore’s ”Parader” is an interesting throwback to the lost days of classic and glam rock. But unlike the Darkness winking, tongue in cheek odes to arena rock and 80s metal, Galore is 100% serious. These Canadians harness the spirits of T. Rex and Lynard Skynard together on the opener, Little Hit Parader. Singer Barry Francis Walsh comes off as a young Tom Petty with a little more attitude and vocal range on tracks like Sing Along with Someone to pull off some pretty pleasant surprises. I had my doubts at first, but this album is pretty good. Its at least refreshing to hear an album so strongly influenced by classic rock being so sincere.
