Review: Furthermore

Furthermore
“She and I”
(Tooth & Nail)

I must admit, I despise rap, so I’m not the best guy for the job of reviewing this CD, but I’ll try. I am, after all, a professional; I might as well act like one. The hip-hop tunes are a bit more fun and melodic than you usually hear. It’s certainly more creative and personal than the bulk of hip-hop records and many of the melodies are pretty damn catchy. Furthermore is made up of a female singer, Lee, and a male rapper, Fisher. Both are good at what they do. Lee definitely has the nicer voice, but perhaps that’s the idea.  The press release says it’s for fans of Scapegoat Wax, Pharcyde, They Might be Giants and Beck, so I’ll go with that. It might be a good album if it wasn’t for the whole hip-hop thing.
