Review: From Ashes Rise

From Ashes Rise
“Nightmares”
(Jade Tree)

These guys rip.  Hardcore the way it was meant to be played, full of searing passion and imagery without all of the macho bullshit that often goes along with it.  Pop this thing into your player and be prepared for the stomach churning breakdowns within “The Final Goodbye” and the animalistic, dual guitar attack on “Reaction”.  Brad Boatright and John Wilkerson share vocal duties and both have two of the better screams around, along with the ability to avoid the tedious “hardcore growl” that only serves to mute the music.  These guys are on tour with Strike Anywhere and Dillinger Four right now, so check them out.
