Betty Blowtorch is a band that was never given the credit they deserved. These four hard rocking bitches gave rock a much needed kick in the ass. Unfortunately in 2001 singer Bianca Butthole was taken before her time in a car accident. As a tribute to the late singer, “Last Call” has been released to document the band’s career and features some previously unreleased material. Usually an album like this would be nothing more than filler until another album arrives from your favorite band.
These albums are only good for one or two listens, then usually filed with the rest of the CD’s you never listen to. This is definitely an exception as the material here is good enough to stand up to anything on the band’s debut and good enough to keep you coming back for more. “I Wanna Be On Epitaph”, “Shut Up and Fuck” and “I’m Ugly and I Don’t Know Why” is classic Betty Blowtorch material that sounds just as good today, as it did when it was originally released. “Last Call” is a fitting tribute to a true rock and roll legend. Bianca may have past on but the music she’s left us with will never die.
