Review: Atreyu

Atreyu
“Suicide Notes and Butterfly Kisses”
(Victory Records)

Ok, where the hell did Atreyu come from? This band is awesome. Great melodic Hardcore with a combination of screamy and clean vocals. The drummer rules and the guitarists are amazing. With their debut release on Victory they are starting off strong. “Suicide Notes and Butterfly Kisses” is fast, hard, heavy, slow, melodic, chaotic and most importantly original. Key tracks are “a song for the optimists” and cleverly titled,   “at least I know I’m a sinner”. It fits into the CD collection next to Poison the Well, Thursday and American Nightmare.
