Review: 30 Years War

30 Years War
“Under the Gun”
(Substandard)

30 Years War rages an all-out verbal assault against your senses in this blistering little six-track EP.  Full of screamed vocals and old school hardcore sounds, these Santa Cruz locs rail against the political powers that be and the socio-economic mess they’ve created, all at about ten billion beats per second.

Tracks like “Colors Of” and its thunderous, “Red hate and white noise/ And the blue drone of the airwaves/ Confirms my contempt” will leave your head reeling and your mind full.  If you think speed-core bands like Heroin are the bee’s knees, then “Under the Gun” should be on your list.  If you’re looking for variation and harmony, then look somewhere else.
