Review: Angelo Moore as Dr. Madd Vibe

Angelo Moore as Dr. Madd Vibe
““The Yin Yang Thang””
(Asian Man Records)

“Flow to the coconut groove grove with milkshakes, gumbo and a hurricane to drink/Now let’s smoke a bowl of ganja and think!”…Just shy of a Malcolm X sermon preaching the indelible Dr. Seuss, this spoken word effort by Fishbone’s outlandish lead singer, Angelo Moore, is charged with cynicism.  It is a manic endeavor, zealously arguing optimism as a means of salvation from the undesirable state of our society and from ignored racial injustices.  Although he delivers many convincing messages supported by an invigorating performance, you still can’t shake the feeling you’ve just finished flipping through the pages of “Green Eggs & Ham”.
