The paper thin art of Monami Ohno

This is artist Monami Ohno.

She has a unique control over her medium of choice… paper. Specifically, plain brown cardboard.

Born in Wakayama, Japan, and trained at the Osaka University of Arts, the artist creates sculptures that belie their source material.

Since 2011 the paper-centric sculptor has been steadily creating random pop culture nods with a level of detail that is stunning.

Check out some of her whimsical pieces…

Monami Ohno keeps an active Instagram account so you can check out other creations and see new ones when they are posted.
