Holy ship that’s big!

This is the Blue Marlin.

A semi-submersible heavy lift ship from Dockwise Shipping of the Netherlands, it is designed to transport very large semi-submersible drilling rigs. Above the transport ship’s deck, it is equipped with 38 cabins to accommodate 60 people, a workout room, sauna and swimming facilities.

When you want to ship a ship… this is the ship you use.

Note the ‘normal’ sized ship in the bottom middle for scale.

What if you want to ship a bunch of ships? The Blue Marlin has got you covered.

Ever wonder how they get the bulk of oil rigs out into the Ocean?

But the legs of the oil rigs go separately…

The Blue Marlin is called to task when someone needs to get a very expensive Sea-Based X-Band Radar out on the ocean.
