Review: Some Girls

Some Girls
Heaven’s Pregnant Teens

Take ex-members of American Nightmare, The Locust, and Plot to Blow Up the Eiffel Tower, throw them altogether and you’ve got the harshest, most scathing record of 2006. With track after track of ruthless, frantic agit-prop punk and a harrowing, discordant guitar section “Heaven’s Pregnant Teens” plays like the soundtrack on the escalator ride to Hell. Nihilistic and as-brutal-as-possible lyrics dominate the vocal landscape, slashing and burning their way across the visceral musical landscape. While this will clearly not appeal to everybody (maybe 2% of musical listeners will actually enjoy listening to this album) the absolute rawness Some Girls are able to convey makes this deserve to be heard. Not for the faint of heart.
