Have you ever heard a hardcore band with a keyboard?  Me either, and quite honestly I don’t know what to make of it.  Frodus is a three-man outfit with a sound somewhere between 25 to Life and Devo.  Sound weird?  It is.  One track will be decent sounding hardcore anthem and the next will be some sort of experimental song.  Not only that, but Frodus has a couple of tracks that are instrumentals-that’s right, no vocals, just a bunch of keyboards and drums, but not in a techno, trance kind of way.  Speaking of vocals, Frodus’ are pretty twisted, an example of which can be found on “Chiriacho Summit” which goes, “A water tower bleeds from the heat – Can the sun guess my reaction – No retreat – Not even in sleep.”  Call me old fashioned, but I just don’t get it.  Judging by the cover, Frodus is a bunch of art-nerds who decided to put down their easels for a little bit and try some screaming mixed with a Casio.  Well, it’s a free world and they can do what they want, just so long as it doesn’’t involve my speakers.
