Review: Zeke

“‘Till The Livin’ End”
(Relapse)

The crystal meth equivalent to punk rock strikes again.  If you want your rock super fast, overdriven and completely manic, Zeke is your band.  It’s a no bullshit affair.  They’ve got albums before this, they’ll probably crank out albums after this.  It’s all the same.  It’s all good.  Rip rip rip, solo solo, rip rip, solo and out.  It’s speedy sweaty fun.  Take a Ramones record and play it at triple speed and it will sound something like this.

“‘Till The Livin’ End” finds the band now releasing on Relapse, but without changing a note in their assault (the production is a bit cleaner here than previous releases).  It’s a one trick pony, but it’s a helluva trick.  It blisters even more live.  If you like your rock loud and fast, you can’t go wrong with any Zeke release and this one is no exception.
